Akira Martins is a film producer, strategic partnerships leader, and international connector working at the intersection of Europe, Latin America, and Asia.
With nearly two decades of experience in the audiovisual industry, he has built a career that moves fluidly between storytelling, business development, and global collaboration. His work spans feature films, series, and transmedia projects, alongside partnerships with international brands such as Netflix, Unilever, General Motors, Nissan, Meta, and LinkedIn.
Akira is the founder of 061 Films, a Brazil-based production company rooted in Brasília, and +43 Films in Austria, created to bridge European, Latin American, and Asian markets. He is also a co-founder of ABRASIA, an initiative dedicated to strengthening audiovisual collaboration between Brazil and Asia through co-productions, training programs, and market integration.
His filmography includes award-winning short films and internationally distributed documentaries such as #OnTheShouldersOfGiants and #UberVsTaxis. His recent and upcoming work includes the documentary series Game Dev BR, the children’s series Wild Cub School, and fiction features currently in post-production, including The Shortest Distance Between Two Points, Formation 155, and in development, such as Solitude, Night at the Roadside, Crossing Borders and Kamakura Tales.
Akira has been selected for leading international industry programs such as EAVE Slate, Match Me! at the Locarno Film Festival, and the Producers Hub at the Asian Contents & Film Market during the Busan International Film Festival. He has also participated in major global markets including Cannes, Berlinale, Tokyo, and Hong Kong, positioning himself within a strong international network of producers and institutions.
He is currently completing his Master’s in European Film Business and Law at the Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf, in partnership with the University of Potsdam and the Erich Pommer Institut, where he focuses on international co-production strategies and transcontinental film ecosystems.
Based in Austria, Akira works to connect industries, talents, and stories across continents — building pathways for collaboration and producing projects that resonate across cultures.
